How to Use Saphir Mirror Gloss.

Saphir Mirror Gloss is a hard finishing wax. For best results, always apply it after cleaning and conditioning the leather.

Prepare the leather
Clean and condition the shoes thoroughly first. We recommend using Venetian Shoe Cream or Saphir Renovateur + Cream. Allow the base to dry completely.
Apply base layers (optional but recommended)
Apply 1–2 thin layers of a softer wax such as Saphir Pâte de Luxe and buff well.
Apply Mirror Gloss
Take a very small amount of Saphir Mirror Gloss on a soft cotton cloth or wrap it around two fingers.
Rub in very thin layers using light circular motions on the toe cap and heel.
Build the shine
When the wax starts to “grab,” add a tiny drop of water and continue polishing.
Repeat 4–8 thin layers (or more for a true mirror finish). Let each layer dry for 1–2 minutes.
Final buff
Buff vigorously with a clean soft cloth or horsehair brush until a deep glass-like mirror shine appears.

Pro Tips:

Less is more — use minimal product per layer.
Work on small areas at a time (toe caps and heels usually).
For the best mirror shine, apply in a warm room.
Allow shoes to rest 24 hours after the final layer before heavy wear.

Important Notes:

Mirror Gloss is a finishing product intended to obtain high shine to shoes, rather than a cleaning product.

If your shoes are dirty or clogged with wax, silicone, or resin deposits, the leather must be cleaned before applying Mirror Gloss. We recommend Saphir Rénomat Leather Cleaner. Test on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire shoe.

If your shoes are regularly cleaned, we recommend using the Lotion or the Cleanser which will moisturise and gently clean the leather pores without degrading the patina.

Before using Mirror Gloss, we advise waxing your shoes by alternating their care with Crème 1925 to nourish and moisturise the leather, and Pâte de Luxe to produce a deeper shine.

We also recommend applying these products with the Pommadier Brush. Its design facilitates an easy and thorough application of wax to the targeted areas.
