How to Use Leather Tinting Cream for Leather Restoration
This leather tinting cream renovates leather in the same shade. It uses the same processes as tannery leather finishing. Easy to use, it restores the original finish by removing discolorations, scratches, and cracks. Apply to the entire surface for a uniform result.
AVEL Tinting Pigment Cream works as a leather dye tint cream for smooth pigmented leather. Apply it with a Rectangular Foam Applicator, Cotton Cloth, Cotton Wick, Sponge, or Painter's Roller Brush. Choose the tool based on your preferences and leather type. For flat surfaces, use the Painter's Roller Brush.
This cream must be applied to a clean and degreased surface. Prior cleaning is essential with AVEL Smooth Leather Cleaning Soap. Use Hussard Aerosol Leather and Textile Stain Remover for sebum areas like headrests. Ensure the leather is completely dry before applying the cream.
Notes:
The 375 ml can treats a 3-seater sofa. Shake well before use. Apply in 2 coats; the first coat serves as a primer. Fix each coat with AVEL Fixer. Wait at least 4 hours between coats. The ambient temperature must be above 0°C. Work in a well-ventilated area for best results.
If your leather may be exposed to the elements, apply Tenax Aerosol Saphir Finishing Varnish. AVEL Anti-Stain Leather Aerosol is also useful in case of heavy rain. These additional products help protect your restored leather from weather damage.
Some leather finishes are incompatible with this cream (approximately 5% of leathers). If in doubt, send us a sample for testing. Results can only be guaranteed in that case. Test on a small hidden area first to ensure compatibility.
The cream can be removed before fixing with AVEL Smooth Leather Cleaning Soap. After fixing, use Fine Alcohol for Varnishing to remove it if needed. This flexibility allows you to make adjustments during the application process.
Store the cream in a cool, dry place. Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use. For long-term color retention, consider applying a leather conditioner after the fixing process is complete.
